Double Lobe Piercings: A Comprehensive Guide to Achieving a Stylish and Trendy Look

Double Lobe Piercings: A Comprehensive Guide to Achieving a Stylish and Trendy Look

The Fun of Lobe Piercing

Almost everyone gets their ears pierced, whether at a young age or in adulthood. The ubiquity of ear piercings means that there are many different styles, designs, and ways to wear some pretty cool jewelry, regardless of what kind of aesthetic you’re into, from a subtle stud earring to a more intense hoop earring, your ears are a wonderful canvas for some really cool pieces. The best part is that even if you don’t have your ears pierced yet, you can find the time to get it done as an adult. While many people have it done when they’re younger, some cultures and families won’t allow this until the person is of consenting adult age. There’s no reason for you to wait if you want to get it done though, so exploring your options and finding a place to go is all a part of the process.

Getting Your Lobe Piercing

The obvious first step in ear piercing is actually getting your ears pierced. There are a number of ways to do this, and everyone has a story about their first piercing. If your ears are already pierced, you probably got them done on a whim at a mall kiosk with a piercing gun. Today, most shops will use a piercing needle for ear piercings, as it is much more sanitary and easier to implement, not to mention cleaner and less apt to cause issues or infection. This doesn’t remove any tissue or skin, but rather pushes it out of the way to make room for whatever jewelry you have your eyes on. Piercing Places Toronto

The Dangers of Piercing Guns

Most professional piercers will tell you that those guns were incredibly unsanitary and used over and over. Today, hardly anyone uses them due to the risk of infection and low rate of sterilization over many uses. Your best bet is to go to a professional piercing parlor or tattoo shop that specializes in these types of piercings. That way, you will have a better idea as to the overall cleanliness and professionalism of the place, instead of relying on someone to clean their equipment in a crowded public space.

Should I get second lobe piercing?

Maybe you already have multiple piercings and some fun jewelry and earrings to show off, but you want something a little different or to show off a new style. Contemporary jewelry is all about the fit and finish of what you’re wearing relative to your personality and aesthetic, so you can basically do whatever you want. Having two lobe piercings means double the fun and double the jewelry, meaning that you can have even more cool pieces to show off. Plus, you don’t always need to use it if you don’t want to, but you have the versatility of showcasing two separate pieces.

Do lobe piercings hurt?

Getting your ears pierced isn’t particularly painful at all, which is one of the reasons why it is one of the most popular piercings across all cultures and is often done at a young age. Children are often very sensitive to any types of pain, so the small discomfort from getting your ears pierced isn’t ever too bad for them. Granted, everyone has a different response to pain, and what is uncomfortable for someone might be more painful for someone else, but the general rule is that ear piercings don’t cause much in the way of physical pain. The main thing to remember is to find somewhere and someone who is comfortable with the procedure and making sure it’s something that you want to do.

What is the least painful piercing?

Out of all the different places that you can get a piercing, the earlobes are probably the least painful relative to anything else. The reason for this is that the cartilage in our ears is incredibly dense, to the point where there are less nerves there than most other parts of the body. When your piercer decides to push the needle through, you’ll probably feel something akin to a short, small pinch on the arm. It will hurt only for a second, being a slight discomfort at best.

Is it better to pierce baby ears with needle or gun?

Whether you’re already double pierced or thinking about getting another lobe done, there are some things you should know about the safety and sanitization of the equipment used for piercings. As mentioned previously, most professional piercers won’t be using the outdated gun model piercers anymore due to a lack of sanitary cleanliness. Instead, hollow needles are used as a more clean and efficient way to pierce any part of the body, including the ears. This means that you aren’t removing any skin or tissue, but it’s being pushed out of the way to make room for the gauge or piercing that you want to have. Clearly, due to its safety and sanitary tendency, a piercing needle is your absolute best bet for an earlobe piercing. Always ask your piercer what equipment they use and make sure you are comfortable with whatever process they practice.

Some Things to Look out For

In spite of all of this, there is always a chance for infection or other complications when you get a piercing. There are ways to lessen your risk however; mainly going somewhere safe in the first place. If you notice or experience severe pain in your ear area, along with marked red streaks, you may have an infection that requires antibiotics, so be sure to see your doctor as soon as possible to prevent things from progressing. As well as this, make sure that you are keeping an eye on the area and keeping it clean. Soap and water will suffice just fine in getting rid of germs, and this is the single most important thing you can do for yourself and your health after getting a piercing. Doing all of this will allow you to enjoy your new jewelry in the best way possible: safely!
